Saturday Social Skills Program

Focus: Children with PDD (Pervasive Development Disorder)

Program Description: A therapeutic program geared towards the development of social skills through the use of cooperative games, arts and crafts, outings, and socially based group work.

Qualifying Criteria:

       PDD Diagnosis

       Resident of Halton

       Ages 8-12 years

       Referrals welcomed from: parents/guardians, medical professionals, schools, etc.

Program Goals: To develop age appropriate friendships, clear communication, and problem solving strategies in a safe, nurturing environment.

Next Program Details:

       Nelson Youth Centres April 22, 2006 – June 24, 2006

       Number in Program: 12

       Sessions: 4 Sessions per calendar year

       Weekly on Saturdays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
