Programs Nelson Youth Centres is a community-based organization dedicated to helping Halton children, youth and families. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, staff work closely with agencies involved with the child and family, the parents, the child and the school to develop integrated treatment plans and service delivery. Many are experiencing difficult life transitions. Nelson Youth Centres’ provide programs for youth ages 7-17. Children and youth referred to the Centre are experiencing moderate to severe emotional, social, behavioural or learning problems resulting in difficulties at home, school and/or in the community.
Programs are provided in a therapeutic group setting with a safe, home-like environment aimed at strengthening the social and emotional well being of the children & youth. Treatment programs work with both the children and parents to help foster effective relationships at home and in the community by focusing on each child and their unique needs. |
